My Story

About Me

I am a mental performance consultant (provisional) and gymnastics coach with over 15 years of experience with recreational and competitive athletes ranging from 4 years old to 50+ years old. The joy of helping athletes mature and flourish in their sport and life is unlike any other. I grew up doing sports my whole life, including gymnastics, karate, cheerleading, rugby and more. This has given me a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and approaches required for individual and team sports. Seeing firsthand the mental performance consultant's impact on athletes, combined with the high demands of sport at a young age, opened my eyes to the next natural and positive step in my coaching career.

Coaching & Consulting Background

My experience coaching athletes of all ages and skill levels, from young children to mature adults has helped me gain a broad range of knowledge and expertise when it comes to working with different types of athletes. My experience coaching recreational and competitive gymnasts also provides me with insights into the unique mental challenges that sport presents, such as the need to perform complex routines under pressure and the risk of injury.

My education and experience in applied sport psychology and coaching make me well-suited to help athletes of all ages and levels improve their mental skills and performance. With a master's degree in applied sport psychology from the University of Ottawa, I deeply understand the psychological factors that impact athletic performance and a range of techniques and strategies to help athletes develop mental resilience and improve their performance.

My combination of education and experience makes me a valuable resource for athletes looking to improve their mental performance, whether they are beginners or seasoned competitors

My Philosophy

My philosophy focuses on a client-centred and strength-based approach and fosters a safe and supportive environment for the individual and/or team. The use of a non-judgmental approach is an important part of creating a space where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings without fear of being criticized or judged. By recognizing and building on the client's existing strengths, they develop a more positive and empowered mindset that leads to greater confidence and resilience, which is essential for overcoming challenges and achieving personal growth. Overall, I have found this approach to be very effective in helping clients feel heard, validated and supported.
